
Njogu noted that no Kenyans have been reported injured by the Kenyan Embassy in Turkey further providing an emergency hotline and other contact details which affected Kenyans can reach out with.
"Following today’s tragic earthquake in Turkey and N. Syria, @KenyaEmbAnkara confirms no reports of any Kenyan dead or injured. Kenyans affected by this earthquake can call the embassy hotline +90(538)502 0960, email diaspora@mfa.go.ke or DM us at @Diaspora_KE cc @ForeignOfficeKE," she Tweeted.
She also sent her condolences to the families and friends of the tragedy's victims.
"Such a tragedy this #earthquake is for Turkey and Syria. Our deepest condolences to you. Our thoughts, prayers and love for the bereaved families and hope for recovery for the injured."
As of Tuesday morning, at least 4,372 deaths have been confirmed after a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked the two nations.
Turkey’s head of disaster services Yunus Sezer confirmed that Turkey's toll rose to 2,921 and a total of 15,834 were reported injured.
Sezer added that at least 2,834 buildings were damaged, and authorities provided shelter for the citizens through the night.
In Syria, 1,451 deaths and 3,531 injuries have been reported by officials.
